Providence Health & Services Chaplain - ElderPlace in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a Chaplain (PACE - MLK, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Seattle, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is a multi-center position where you may work at one of our four ElderPlace sites - Redmond, Kent, Seattle, and West Seattle. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
In this position you will:
Provide weekly non-denominational Worship Services, Memorial Services and other special services throughout the year.
Pastoral visits to the dying and their significant others and responding to the participant’s death or other crises.
Provide crisis support and guidance to participants and family members to assess and minister to emotional and spiritual needs.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care plan meetings, giving appropriate input for spiritual care.
Participate in the End of Life and Ethics Committees and other committees as requested. Facilitate the Mission Committee and represent PEP in the PSCS’s Mission Committee.
Facilitate denominational ministry through pastoral visitation by community clergy as requested. Assist participant to find a faith community and to facilitate community worship service attendance.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Studies
Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units
Current Chaplain certification or eligible issued by National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Professional Chaplains (APC)
Experience in counseling/advising within health care and in Pastoral Service
Preferred qualification for this position include:
Master's degree in Pastoral Studies
Valid WA state driver's license
