Providence is calling a Lead Physical Therapist (1.0 FTE, Days: Mon-Fri, No Nights, Weekends, or On-Call, Partial Remote) to work for PACE WA in Seattle, WA
The Lead Physical Therapist will be responsible for assisting the Rehab Manager and Site Operations Managers in providing clinical leadership of the WA PACE Physical therapy team. As a member of the Rehab leadership team this position is specifically responsible for identifying best practice and providing assessment of Physical Therapy staff skills, giving performance feedback related to clinical skills and clinical reasoning, and providing back-fill participant care as assigned.
In this position you will:
Develop, organizes and updates participant and clinician resources as needed
Effectively and efficiently reviews health sciences literature on topics such as: therapy diagnosis, practice, participant management, outcomes, health policy, communication, research, and social determinants of health, and communicates that information through verbal, written, and/or electronic means to promote best practice
Act as a resource for therapy staff and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) regarding the above information
Effectively communicates with Rehab and Site Operations managers and staff about clinical information as it is updated
Effectively collaborates with outside agencies for WA PACE Rehab work, including oversight and coordination of student training programs
Support Rehab department quality improvement metrics and initiatives
Keep informed of PACE program regulation changes, changing healthcare environment needs, changing department procedures, and collaborates with the Rehab Manager and Site Operations Managers to develop WA PACE Rehab department strategies to respond to these changes
Schedule and leads discipline team meetings
Organize and/or participates in program outreach opportunities
Provide discipline-specific orientation to all new WA PACE Physical Therapy staff. Completes initial and yearly competencies with Physical Therapy staff
Complete routine documentation review and practice observations for clinical appropriateness
Involved in organizing the mentorship program within their specialty. May provide formal or informal mentorship to staff as needed and appropriate
Assist Site Managers and Rehab leadership in coordinating care during staff absences
Provide back-fill coverage for participant care needs
Serve as the WA Clinical Excellence representative for the discipline. Assigns or fills the role of Epic Superuser for the discipline and participates in other organization committees as needed
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy - or- related field
Current Washington State Physical Therapist license
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification at time of hire
Current driver’s license
Three (3) years of Physical Therapy in a related rehabilitation setting
Able to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Master's Degree/Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy
Three (3) years of Working with a geriatric population
