Providence Health & Services Medical Records Assistant in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Medical Record Assistant (Hospital Administration, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Tukwila, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

This position coordinates and carries out the medical record function. Work involves maintenance of the legal patient records and filing of patient clinical information. Work is supervised and evaluated by the Medical Records Supervisor through daily reports and observation with input from the Home Health Manager.

In this position you will:

  • Inputs patient clinical information into computer within agency-established timeframe with at least 98% accuracy.

  • Processes incoming/outgoing mail within the agency-established guidelines and timeframes.

  • Processes Physician's orders as assigned with at least 98% accuracy.

  • Secures all Medical Records at end of work day.

  • Coordinates medical records needed for interdisciplinary team conference, utilization review, quality assurance, etc.

  • Processes and maintains patient medical record with at least 98% accuracy to include: opening/closing patient charts; charting; follow-ups; copying of records and purging records.

  • Ability to perform all tasks of the job and observe Agency safety standards. Work is accurate and reliable.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work flow in order to consistently meet team and Agency objectives and needs.

  • Skilled in interpersonal communication.

  • Ability to actively participate in a team environment and be a cooperative team member.

  • Ability to be at and ready to begin work on time.

  • Ability to work independently and keep others informed.

  • Will provide support and coverage for Switchboard Operator to answer triage incoming calls.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the medical field preferred
