Providence Occupational Therapist – Pace Redmond in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling an Occupational Therapist (OT) (Pace Redmond, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace split between Redmond and Seattle, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Perform thorough OT assessments, evaluating the physical and functional status as well as cognitive, psychological and perceptual function of PEP participants.

  • Perform home assessments to determine home safety as well as needed adaptations, DME and caregiver training in home environment.

  • Develop plan of care in accordance with participant’s needs and team approval.

  • Demonstrate an ability to treat a wide range of geriatric diagnoses, both psychiatric and physical and be knowledgeable in therapy treatments, goals and contraindications for treatment.

  • Request consultation, supervision or continuing education when appropriate to learn specialized techniques or treatment approaches.

  • Provide participant/caregiver education and counseling regarding issues related to rehabilitation treatment and goals, safety risks and equipment and home adaptations.

  • Evaluate, recommend and is responsible for obtaining adaptive equipment and DME. Fabricates adaptive equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school

  • Current licensure or certification in Washington State

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

  • Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance

  • Two (2) years Occupational Therapy experience with adult physical disabilities.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy

  • Experience working with a geriatric population.
