Providence Senior BI Developer in Seattle, Washington

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior BI Developer. This position is fully remote within the US.

We are seeking a Senior BI Developer PSJH to be responsible in supporting the organization and its strategic affiliates by taking a leadership role in the development of meaningful reporting and analytic solutions. This position will oversee the gathering of business needs and requirements documentation, provide guidance in identifying appropriate data sources, develop and update reporting objects, provide analysis, and deliver solutions to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is also responsible for interpreting HI developed reporting and analytical solutions to help to customers in gaining insight about their areas of accountability and in making strategic decisions. This role is expected to serve as a strong mentor for less experienced analysts in the department to help them develop efficient ways of creating reporting and analytics solutions. This role works with a diverse set of stakeholders and is responsible for leading large reporting and analytics projects across multiple regions or stakeholder groups. This role will be accountable for the effective execution and delivery of projects and solutions while coordinating the recourses assigned to these bodies of work. This position may be responsible for the development and implementation of semantic data layer objects, such as Business Objects Universes, data marts, and custom database objects (in coordination with the BI Developer roles), to support reporting and analytics solutions for the Providence organization. Additionally, this position may require the creation of presentation layer objects like interactive reports, scorecards, and dashboards and may be responsible for leading development efforts.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide high level analytic expertise for the development of complex reporting and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) solutions utilizing Power BI toolset. You will partner with operational leads and translate from functional requirements to technical specifications, then develop, implement and maintain data solutions utilizing appropriate software languages, including SQL, various ETL tools or other languages as needed.

  • Work with a diverse set of customers and stakeholders across the organization to understand operational processes and outline specific requests for work. Demonstrate an open willingness to listen and learn clinical or business needs, then develop solutions of excellent quality as measured by performance and data integrity standards. These solutions should also provide complex and integrated answers to a suite of operational questions.

  • Design, Model, Develop, and deploy BI solutions (applications and technologies which are used to acquire, transform, model, analyze and report information) for end-to-end analytics utilizing Power BI, Excel, SQL and other related BI tools.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting and analytical solutions, processes and practices utilizing standard methodologies.

  • Provide guidance, coordination and assignment for resources assigned to projects or bodies of work relevant to the accountabilities and responsibilities of the analyst

  • Participation in creation of BI solution design to support business and/or clinical operations and programs.

  • Communicate and escalate major issues promptly to management, leadership, team members, customers as appropriate

  • Resolve production problems and issues through root cause analysis, data investigation, QA and testing

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Public Health, Business Management, Information Services or equivalent education or experience.

  • 5 years of experience in Healthcare Business Intelligence or related field specific to Business Intelligence.

  • 7 years of experience in utilization of reporting and analytic tools and techniques.

  • Proven experience in leading cross function teams, coordinating resources, setting timelines and deliverables for successful completion of project work.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Extensive experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, and Jira.

  • Extensive SQL integration development experience with SQL/noSQL.

  • Extensive experience with data modeling in Visualization tools such as PowerBI.

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Services or equivalent education or experience.

  • Hands-on experience with Contact center/Call center data and operational processes

  • Experience with Service Delivery/Ticketing processes or platforms (Service Now, NuVolo)
