Providence Health & Services Clinical Educator - Hospice Shared in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Educator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Hospice Shared at SCS Hospice in Tukwila, WA.
The Clinical Educator provides clinical expertise and serves as a role model, consultant and educator to staff in the PSCS Hospice Service Line. This position functions as a collaborative partner to foster the delivery of high quality patient care by promoting staff professional growth, and supporting the development of staff from novice to expert. Provides leadership to enhance clinical practice, and serves as a resource and developer of educational opportunities.
In this position you will:
Develop, implement, deliver or coordinate, and evaluate educational programs to assure that staff demonstrates clinical competency, professional development, and knowledge about hospice and palliative care, and to assure compliance with all legal, regulatory, Providence system and agency-specific requirements.
Collaborate with the hospice leadership to coordinate the orientation.
Oversee the coordination of mandatory educational activities in collaboration with Risk, Safety and compliance.
Identify, lead and/or participate in performance improvement projects that can be addressed with educational solutions.
Deliver training programs through various methods and approaches such as in-person presentations and in-services, on-line training via online technology, webinars, periodic skill fairs and demonstrations.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Three (3) years Inpatient or in-home hospice/palliative care experience
Ability to obtain current Washington State Registered Nursing License or LICSW
Ability to obtain Current Washington State Driver's license
Ability to obtain automobile insurance
Current certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care required, or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, and willingness to learn new information technology
Knowledge and experience related to clinical practice with the ability to coach/teach colleagues toward successs. Responsible for utilizing data sets and information to identify opportunity and successfully mobilize clinical and other resources (for example LYNC webinars) to achieve improvements
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One (1) year experience in nursing or healthcare education curriculum development with a variety of teaching methods
