Providence Health & Services Medical Assistant Certified - Home Infusion Therapy in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Home Infusion Therapy, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Seattle, Washington. In this position you will:
Greet and initiate rooming process: Interviews patients, records vital signs and weights, promptly and accurately documents findings in the medical record.
Initiate therapy-driven patient questionnaires, reviews medication profile, etc.
Assures the AIS is appropriately prepared and/or prepped for the planned infusion or procedure.
Cleans AIS rooms between each patient to maintain infection control and sterilizes equipment, instruments and surfaces.
Performs inventory of AIS, re-stocks/replaces supplies, and monitors product and equipment expiration and service dates.
Assists patients as needed with walking, transferring, preparing for examination, specimen collection, and patient comfort, etc.
Consistently demonstrates correct handling of specimens per physician orders, including appropriate identification, labeling, dating and disposal.
Documents patient interaction to include but not limited to: activities/interventions, patient/family responses, phone calls/conversations as appropriate in the medical record.
Assists RN with performing in-house testing, procedures, patient safety, intermittent patient monitoring such as repeat vital signs.
Discontinues peripheral IV sites, monitors for adverse reactions, reporting findings to RN and appropriately documenting in medical record.
Maintains AIS patient schedule, including contacting patients for appointment scheduling and verification, communication of daily AIS appointment sheet to clinical Pharmacy staff, scheduling next patient appointments, etc.
Provides care team coverage including answering phones, facilitation of timely delivery ticket return.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of a Medical Assistant - Certified accredited program
Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Current Washington State Driver's license and automobile insurance
One (1) year experience in a Physician office or clinic setting
