Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (Sterile Compounding Department, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington. This is a unique opportunity for a pharmacy technician to expand their sterile compounding knowledge and skills, by learning and applying Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in a future FDA registered 503B outsourcing facility. This is a Monday-Friday schedule between the hours of 8:00am-5:30pm shift.
In this position you will:
Complete a comprehensive training curriculum on gowning, compounding, aseptic manipulations, USP 797 regulations, FDA cGMP-503(b) regulations.
Accurately prepare batched sterileIV admixturesunder a laminar flow hood or vertical flow biological safety cabinet includingreconstitution of drugs, calculation of drug volumes required to deliver correct dosages, measurements of dosages, transferring of drugs to appropriate volumes and types of solutions for administration, and labeling products according to policy
Use automated compounding devices.
Communicate effectively and appropriately withcoworkers and external customers to providehigh quality sterile products forpatients within the Providence St. Joseph Health System
Track expiration dates of medications and solutions.
Clean and maintain primary engineering controls and clean room areas in accordance with cGMP
Complete and maintain required documentation in compliance with established procedures and GMP
Process and fulfill compounded sterile product orders for facilities
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Current certification and license by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification, or within 6 months upon hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in sterile parenteral product preparation
Working knowledge of USP 797 and cGMP
